Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan zonal office Wednesday arrested 7 suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan.
EFCC in a statement made available to newsmen said the arrested 7 internet fraudsters included a 31-year- old Lateef Adewale Adeyemi who works with a private IT firm in Osogbo. The commission identified other arrested suspects as Saheed Olatunji, Bandele Olarewaju John, Yusuf Akinkunmi Azeez, Fuja Quoreeb Oluwadamilare, Odueso Oluwole Ezekiel and Akinade Teslim.
The EFCC said the suspected fraudsters were arrested at Main Stay Hotel, Akala Express area of Ibadan, following a series of intelligence reports linking them with alleged fraudulent activities, ranging from love scam on numerous dating sites, obtaining money by false pretenses and other frauds still being investigated.
The commission listed items recovered from the arrested suspects as “one car, phones, laptops, several incriminating document” were recovered from the suspects and that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
