EFCC nabs security coy’s executive over N128m scam in Ibadan

The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly defrauding people of over N128, 000, 000 in an investment scheme.

The Commission in a statement on Friday stated that the man identified as Amos Olugbenga Olaniyan was arrested following a series of petitions by his unsuspected victims.

According to EFCC, the petitioners alleged that Amos through his company, DHIL Nigeria Limited popularly known as Crime Alert Security Network Investment, allegedly persuaded them to invest in a network scheme which offered monthly 30% returns on investment.

It stressed that EFCC in the course of investigation, discovered that the suspect operated a classic Ponzi scheme and had defrauded hundreds of people, some of whom reported orally to the Commission, even as petitions still poured into the Commission on a daily basis.

The Commission listed items recovered from the suspect as five exotic cars, three landed properties and other incriminating documents and that he would be charged to court “as soon as the investigation is concluded.”
