Efe Ambrose backs Rangers push for Sadiq

Hibernian defender Efe Ambrose has tipped Sadiq Umar who is heavily linked with a move to Scottish power house Rangers to be a big hit in the SPL if he agrees to join on loan from Italian Serie A side Roma.
New coach of Rangers Steven Gerrard has made the signing of the Nigerian forward his priority in his transfer window but they face competition for his services from teams around Europe, notably in Belgium and Holland.
Sadiq spent the second half of last season on loan at Dutch side NAC Breda and even though the club have the option of extending his deal for another season, they are yet to take it up.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com two days back Sadiq admitted that he would love to team up with the legendary Gerrard but also revealed that his main aim for now is to earn a spot in the first team of Roma.
Ambrose was asked by Owngoalnigeria.com to give his opinion about the potential signing of the 21-year-old and the former Celtic defender, who has been playing in Scotl
” I know him very well. He lives in same state like me in Kaduna. During the last Olympics in Rio he did very well and from what I have seen of him, he will be a big hit in Scotland if he decides to join Rangers “, Ambrose told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” He is strong, quick and skillful. I particularly admire his calmness in front of goal. Here is hoping if he decides to come to Scotland he won’t play to his potential against me “, Ambrose joked.
