Eid El- Fitr: Be vanguards of peace, unity, Nasarawa gov tasks Nigerians

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has emphasised the need for Nigerians in spite of their differences to be vanguards of peace, tolerance and patience with one another.

Sule made the call on Sunday in his country home Gudi after performing two Raka’at prayers as part of this year’s Eid El- Fitr celebration.

He said Nigerians needed to be committed to prayers for their leaders to ensure peace and economic development of the country.

“I call on the people to continue to be patient and leave in peace with one another, because patience with one another is patience with God. If you are not patient with one another you cannot be patient with Almighty Allah; so we want people to continue to maintain that,” he said.

He equally enjoined the Muslim Ummah to demonstrate lifestyles reflective of the purpose of the Ramadan celebration, centred on love and brotherhood.

Sule assured that his administration would continue to prioritise programmes and policies that will enhance welfare and economic status of people of the state.

He said the state government would do everything possible to ensure completion of all projects started by the previous administration, to avoid wastages.

“I promise that the responsibility of this government is to ensure that every project started by all the previous administrations, irrespective of who was the governor, will be completed because resources had already been expended on those projects and we can turn away from that,” he assured.
