Eid-el-fitr: NOA charges Muslims to be obedient to God

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) Thursday charged Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-el-fitr to improve their obedience to God.

The agency charged Muslims to be selfless in the service to humanity as exemplified by the Holy Prophets of God.

This was contained in a Sallah message issued by the Kogi state director of NOA, Ambassador Mohammed Othman Abdullahi and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.

Abdullahi also admonished Muslims to have the fear of God and be their brothers’ keepers. He noted that the lessons learnt from Ramadan fasting, if inculcated into our daily affairs, would the pave way for unity and peaceful coexistence of Nigerians.

The NOA state director called on Muslims not to be carried away by the celebration and urged them to abide by COVID-19 safety protocols which includes maintaining social distancing, washing of hands with soap under running water at regular intervals or with alcohol based sanitisers and wearing of face masks in public places among others.

“We should also ensure that despite the fact that there is vaccine for COVID-19, we should not give up on safety protocols until experts have advised otherwise,” he said.
