Eid el-Kabir: CP assures residents of adequate security

Th e Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital territory (FCT), CP Musa Kimo, has reassured residents that the Command had deployed adequate security measures to guarantee a hitch-free Eid el-Kabir celebration.

Th e police boss in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Offi cer (PPRO) for the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, disclosed that Command had commenced massive deployment of plain-cloth and uniformed police operatives across all praying grounds, shopping malls, gardens, recreational spots, critical infrastructures, motor parks and other areas that have been identifi ed to be a beehive of activities during festivities.

Th e statement read in part: “Th is arrangement also includes the strategic deployment of personnel on foot and motorised patrols along all streets, major roads across and all entry and exit points linking FCT with other states.

“Th e CP has also directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Offi cers (DPOs) to provide water-tight security at all prayer grounds located within their respective areas of responsibility.

” It added that while felicitating with Muslim faithful as they “commemorate the Eidel-Kabir celebration, the CP has enjoined FCT residents to be security conscious and continue to partner with the command through the provision of timely information on suspicious and strange persons hibernating around them.
