Ejidike charges Igbo traders to promote sports

Nigeria pillar of sports, High Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike (JP), has called on well to do individuals and corporate firms to support Kwara State Igbo Traders Football Association (ITFA).

He stated  this on Sunday in his office after accepting to sponsor the annual Igbo traders football tournament which will kick off in September.

Ejidike who has supported the programmes of the association on several occasions urged friends and well wishers of the Igbo to assist in the drive to scout for talented footballers among the South-east business men domiciled in Kwara state and it’s environs.

Ejidike who is also a board member of the Karate Federation of Nigeria, promised that this year’s tourney would attract large crowd especially, with the innovation of knock out basis to determine the two finalist before December 2019.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Idris Musa Thuraya, commended the Pillar of Sports for his dedication and love to lift the game of football across the country.

The newly elected Kwara FA boss assured the sports philanthropist and the Igbo Traders Football Association of unalloyed support of the FA to ensure a successful competition, while also promising to replace the old trophy with a new one, as well as a personal donation.

ITFA Chairman, Nze Joseph Igiri, expressed gratitude to Ejidike for the financial support to the association at all times.

Meanwhile, the defending champion Youth FC received their cash prize with the runners up to signal a vista in the 2019 tourney tosolely bankrolled by Nigeria Pillar of Sports.

Dignitaries at the ceremony include ABS Director of Football Alloy Chukwuemeka, Mr Vino Brown, Publisher of sportspro news Bayour Issah, Chairman of SWAN Kwara State Jimoh Bashir, Clubs representatives, ITFA Executive Members, and gentle men of the press.
