Ekere condemns electoral malpractices in Akwa Ibom

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom state, Obong Nsima Ekere, has condemned the electoral malpractices that characterised the February 23, presidential and National Assembly elections in Akwa Ibom State.

He spoke at the weekend when he received separately members of the APC Aspirants Forum, members of the APC Women Directorate and Forum of Group Heads.

Obong Ekere specifically identified vote buying and thuggery by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and theirbcollusion with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) electoral officials as factors that marred the elections.

He assured APC faithful that he has received sufficient assurances from the relevant quarters that the March 9, 2019 governorship and House of Assembly elections would be credible.

Obong Ekere hinted that plans were underway to retrieve all APC National Assembly stolen mandates from PDP through due process.

He lauded APC faithful for their commitment, resilience and steadfastness and charged them to work harder in the March 9 elections.

At the meeting were Obonganwan Geraldine Ita Etuk, the Director of Women Affairs in the APC Campaign Council Princess Imaobong Okon, Mrs. Dorathy Ekpoudom and Mrs. Vivian Samuel Akpan, who spoke on behalf of thousands of women, vowed that the women would work hard to ensure Ekere’s election.

Similar vows were made by Hon. Patty Etete Ineme and Hon. Precious Effiong, on behalf of the Aspirants Forum, and Obong UtibeAbasi Asuquo, the President of the Forum of group heads.
