Ekiti lawmakers have impeached Speaker Gboyega Aribisogan less than a week after he was elected.
Seventeen out of the 25 lawmakers voted in favour of Aribisogan’s removal.
He was also suspended indefinitely on Monday.
The lawmakers elected Olubunmi Adelugba, a woman as the new Speaker.
Adelugba was a Chief Whip of the Assembly who represents Emure constituency.
