The management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that a corps member who was part of the adhoc staff for the by-election in Ekiti state had sustained gunshot wounds from hoodlums who unleashed mayhem on the polling unit.
A statement made available to Blueprint by the Director-General of NYSC, Brig-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, Saturday, revealed that the affected corps member was in stable condition and responding to treatment while others have all returned home safely.
“Management wishes to reiterate that Corps Members are apolitical and neutral and must be protected by all and sundry,” the statement reads in part.
