Ekiti FA boss inaugurates Late Oba Ajakaiye cup committee


The recently constituted committee set up to oversee the maiden edition of the Late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye Under 13 football competition has been inaugurated.


Performing the inauguration in Ado, the Chairman Ekiti State Football Association, Mr. Bayo Olanlege said the committee headed by a popular radio and television sportscaster, Mr. Qozeem Oladapo was formed with a view to organizing a befitting and impactful youth soccer competition among young lads from all parts of the state.
Mr. Olanlege said the family of the late sport-loving royal father, the late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye had in 2020 given the royal blessing for the competition to be held.
The FA boss described the late oba as a passionate sports enthusiast who made remarkable achievements in various spheres of life including sports, hence the decision of the football governing body in Ekiti state to register its desire to organize the competition.


He urged the committee to promptly swing into action towards reaching out to all stakeholders preparatory to the tournament with an assurance of the FA’s support on all fronts.


The chairman of the committee, Qozeem Oladapo, and other committee members thanked the FA for considering them worthy of the onerous task.
The committee members promised to give their best to ensure a competition that will set the pace for other youth soccer competitions in the state and beyond.
The committee members were thereafter presented with their official letters of appointment.
