Ekiti police nab vice-principal for defiling minor

Ekiti state Police Command has arrested the vice-principal of St. Mary’ Girls College, Ikole-Ekiti, Mr  Ajayi Taiwo Ayo, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old student.
The incident which allegedly took place on March 18, this year, inside vice-principal’s office was reported to the police by a female staff of the school who noticed the suspicious entry of the student into the VP’s office.

The eyewitness who became apprehensive when the student, after spending a considerable time in VP’s office, did not come out, went near the door and discovered it was bolted from inside, however, the suspicious movement of both suspect and the victim gave him away.

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Victor Babayemi, told newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday that “investigation by the Command revealed that the suspect had a similar case in the past which was not reported. The victim also admitted that the suspect laid her on his table and had carnal knowledge of her.”

Babayemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said a report of the medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was not intact.
“Although, the suspect denied the allegation, but with the evidence against him, he will soon be arraigned in court for defilement.”
In a related development, one Ala Temitope, aged 25, of No. 128 Ado Community High School Road, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti was apprehended for impersonation and serious assault on a traffic warden.

The offences were committed on April 13, this year, at Fajuyi Roundabout; Ado-Ekiti when the suspect in company of two others riding on a motorcycle was accosted by the traffic officer on duty after the rider had committed a traffic offence.

The suspect, who claimed to be a corporal in the Nigerian Army with his accomplices, jumped down from the motorcycle and beat up the traffic warden with a horse-whip.
However, a police patrol team nearby was alerted and they raced to the scene where two suspects were arrested and situation brought under control.
