Ekweremadu oils 2023 guber wheels

Former Deputy Senate President, and member representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone of Enugu state at the red chambers, Chief Ike Ekweremadu has begun to lubricate his governorship ambition ahead of the 2023 governorship race.

As a result, he has set the ball rolling by sponsoring a football tournament organised by Ovoko Youths in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.

Speaking at the kick-off of the soccer tournament, Ekweremadu said he was going to partner with Ovoko people, saying that he and his team only came to show solidarity to the football tournament.

“We’ll partner with Ovoko people. I want to assure you that darkness cannot overtake light.

” We have come to show solidarity to you. Your football tournament has come to stay,” he said.

Ekweremadu said he had done so many development projects in Enugu North Senatorial Zone though he is from Enugu West, pointing out that he would do more.

He said that he had done over 50 boreholes in various parts of the states, adding that in 2021 and 2022, he will develop Nsukka, starting from Ovoko.

“I have done projects in your zone. I have done about 50 boreholes. In 2021/22, we are going to develop Nsukka, starting from Ovoko,” he said.

Shortly after winning the Enugu West Senatorial seat for the 5th time, Ekweremadu promised not to contest again, and angling for gubernatorial position could be his focus.
