The Kaduna state government has announced the dissolution of the Kaduna state Water Corporation and appointed an interim management committee headed by Malam Sanusi Maikudi to run the corporation.
A statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor Nasir el-Rufai, Mr Samuel Aruwan said that the change in leadership is aimed at restructuring the leadership of the Kaduna State Water Corporation for better services. The statement also announced the appointment of Fatima Ladi Abdullahi as Company Secretary of the water corporation.
“In its bid to accelerate its reform of the water sector in the state, the Kaduna state government has announced a restructuring of the leadership of the Kaduna State Water Corporation. The board of the corporation has been dissolved. In its place, an interim management committee has been charged to run the corporation. “Comrade Sanusi Maikudi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee. In this role, he will serve as the Acting Managing Director of the Kaduna State Water Corporation.
“Maikudi, who has vast experience as an entrepreneur, business development service provider and public servant, is expected to ensure that the water corporation abides by its reform programme and attains expected results.The statement also announced the appointment of Fatima Ladi Abdullahi as Company Secretary of the water corporation. “Prior to this appointment, Maikudi has been running the Kaduna State Investment and Finance Company. He has more than 30 years of experience across many sectors. Born in Kafanchan in 1964, Sanusi Maikudi graduated with a degree in Architecture from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1987. He also holds a 2005 MBA from the same university.
“He has worked as the Katsina Centre Manager for the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and served from 2003 to 2007as a Senior Special Assistant on Project Monitoring to the Governor of Kaduna state.
“Fatima Ladi Abdullahi, the new company secretary, was a principal state counsel in the Kaduna State Ministry of Justice. She studied law at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and was called to the bar in 2003. “Malam Nasir El-Rufai has thanked Dr. Ishaku Shekarau and members of the former board of the water corporation for their service to the state.”
