El-Rufai assures peace, equal opportunities for Kaduna residents

Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai, has reiterated his government’s commitment to peace, unity and development among the people of the state.

The governor made the call at a grand reception organised for the deputy governor of the state, Hajia Hadiza Sabuwa Balabe, at the New Choice Hotel, Kafanchan on Monday.

Malam Nasir said the state government would provide equality of opportunities to the people by making the strong stronger and the weak uplifted through educational development, and assisting the farmers and building their skills.

He added that his administration has been doing a lot from the first term to the second geared towards meaningful development of the State especially in the grassroots against which backdrop he revealed that roads infrastructural development will soon start in Zaria and Kafanchan.

The governor said his selection of Hajia Hadiza Sabuwa Balabe as the deputy governor was based on her credibility and not sentiment, commending her on her dedication and hard work. He also thanked the people of the state for their support and encouraged them to sustain the positive mindset.

In an address, the deputy governor thanked God and the people for their support and love which had assisted her in performing her duties.

Hajia Sabuwa observed that the state had taken the lead in providing quality leadership and good governance and urged the people to do everything possible in their endeavours to make the younger ones emulate.

She commended the governor for giving her the opportunity to serve as his deputy, promising that she will try and do everything to justify the confidence reposed in her.

Earlier in their addresses, the guests of honour at the occasion and senators representing Kaduna at the upper chamber, Uba Sani and Abdu Kwari, appreciated the governor for his foresight in selecting Hajia Hadiza Sabuwa as his deputy, taking into consideration her track records of achievements.

The senators called on the people of the state to continue to support the government and live peacefully with one another.

Similarly, a member representing Jema’a /Sanga constituency, Nicholas Garba Sarkin Noma, said he never doubted el-Rufai on any appointment, saying all the selections were based on merit.
