El-Rufai condoles with Kaninkon chief over wife’s death

Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has extended condolence to the Chief of Kaninkon, His Royal Highness, Tanko Tete, over the death of his wife, Mrs. Laraba Tanko Tete. A statement issued shortly after the Kaduna state delegation visited the traditional ruler in his palace by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Samuel Aruwan, stated that the deceased left when her services and deep commitment to peace were mostly needed in consolidating peace in the Chiefdom.

The statement read in part: “The governor, who commiserated with the paramount ruler of Kaninkon Chiefdom in Jema’a local government area, described the deceased as a God-fearing woman who made sacrifices for the peace and development of not only the Chiefdom, but the state in general. “The deceased left at a time her services and deep commitments are needed in consolidating peace in the chiefdom and the state at large. “I received with shock the news of the departure of the wife of the Chief of Kaninkon. She has been a pillar to His Royal Highness in the different capacities in which he diligently served the state, until his retirement and subsequent appointment as chief of the Kaninkon. “Government appreciates her immense contributions to peace. She was committed to mobilising women and youth for peace, tolerance and the common good. “On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna state, I pray the Almighty to give His Royal Highness, the immediate family and the entire chiefdom the fortitude to bear the loss.”
