El-Rufa’i counsels Muslims on Qur’an, moral values

Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufa’i has advised Muslims to adhere to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an in order to attain total salvation in the hereafter.
The governor, represented by the Director General, Bureau for Religious Affairs, Engr. Namadi Musa, made the call at the 2017 Qur’anic recitation and tafsir competition in the state.
He said adherence to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an would help in shaping moral values and foster a healthy society that brings about socio-economic and cultural development in the country.
Igabi local government representatives emerged overall winners of the competition. They are Umar Kabir Umar for male category and Maryam Sayudi Adam for female category, and each was given hajj seat in appreciation of their performance at the completion.
The hajj seats were donated by the state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i and his wife Ummi Garba El-Rufa’i. Two panel judges of the competition were also donated a hajj seat each by the governor.
The Chairman Standing Committee on Qur’anic Recitation Competition, Dr. Muhammad Bello Abdulkadir Salanken Zazzau, appealed to Muslims in the state to continue to support the committee for the development of Qur’anic memorisation in the children.
The winners of the competition expressed appreciation and advised other students to intensify effort in order to win the next competition.
