El-Rufai planning women empowerment – Wife

Residents of  Badikko, Unguwar Mu’azu, Makera in Kaduna South local government area of Kaduna state Monday, expressed  gratitude to the governor’s wife, Aisha (Ummi) Garba el-Rufai over her sense of magnanimity during several visits to the communities. .

District head of Badikko ward, Alhaji Usman Sani, applauded the governor’s wife , saying she  fulfilled her campaign promises by returning to say ‘thank you for your support.’

During the visit, a statement from her media office and made available to our reporter in Abuja, quoted the governor’s wife as assuring  that her husband was planning empowerment programme for women in the state.

Receiving the governor’s wife, Sani said: “It is obvious  the residents of Badikko must commend Hajiya Ummi el-Rufai for her resilience by proving that she is a true mother of the society. During the campaigns, she promised to come back after victory to say thank you to the people, and here she is. This is praiseworthy because she did something astonishing by setting this example.”

Sani, however, called on the governor’s wife that the ward needed government’s support  in the provision of educational equipment to schools in the area.

He said; “There  were about 1885 school children in the area, but lately the schools in the area suffered some setback due to vandalism by hoodlums in the area,” and asked her to get across their messages to Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Similarly, the district head of Unguwar Mu’azu, alongside other tribal leaders, received the governor’s wife,  applauded the state government for giving people the much-needed attention.

They urged her to intercede by informing the governor of their immediate needs, such as improving and expanding the community’s basic infrastructure and providing potable water to enhance their livelihood.

While at Makera, the district head, who was represented by the secretary of the council, Alhaji Sa’idu Yero, welcomed the entourage, saying  Mrs. el-Rufai did well and had set a phase for all politicians to adopt.

He said many had made promises during campaigns but never bothered to fulfil them.

Responding, Hajiya Ummi el-Rufai thanked all the communities for the warm reception and assured them of government’s support.

She said Governor el-Rufai was focussing on putting people first, stating that all comments and remarks made were duly noted.

“I want to thank Badikko people for their warm reception and assure them that the government is making all necessary arrangements to continue its good work in the state. I also wish to say that my husband;Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai is ready to double his efforts in the last tenure, with the hope that people can give him the benefit of doubt,” said Mrs. El-Rufai.

During the visit, the governor’s wife also told her hosts the governor was drawing out modalities to empower more women across the state by granting them loans to support their businesses.
