El-Rufai’s second coming will be a blessing- Yahuza

The chairperson of Chikun local government area of Kaduna state, Hajiya Ladi Yahuza, (Mama Chikun) yesterday described the victory of Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai in just concluded governorship election as a blessing to the people of state.

She said the governor was not only passionate about the people but determined to provide the electorate with dividends of democracy.

According to her, since Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai came to office in 2015, he had put forward an ambitious blueprint designed to develop Kaduna state but regretted that some senators sabotaged the effort.

“I am personally honoured that the governor decided to appoint me as the women leader during the governorship election, and I worked side by side with three wives of the governor and other women politicians.

“We visited almost all prominent families in the 23 local government areas and in some places myself and the governor’s wives ate with ordinary people to prove that we are all the same.

“Fortunately for us, the governor’s proposal to obtain the $350 million World Bank loan is still intact and we are also happy that senators Shehu Sani and Suleiman Hunkuyi have lost their elections. In their places we now have senators Uba Sani and Sulieman Abdu Kwari, as such it will be easy for the loan to be secured.”

The chairperson recalled that some had mistakenly thought the PDP candidate Isah Ashiru Kudan would defeat El-Rufai because the governor took some painful decisions, like the sacking of teachers and civil servants that people thought it would affect our chances to win again.

“But today, the governor secured a second term with even a Muslim/Muslim ticket, and the magic is the deputy governor who is from Southern Kaduna, is a woman and it was observed that many women came out and voted massively for her.”
