Blueprint recalled that the clashes and alleged killings took place between December 12 and 14, 2015 when members of the IMN were accused of blocking the road while the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Burutai was passing through the area. Though the IMN members denied the military accusation, noting that tbey were on their scheduled procession in Zaria.

Jummai said that, “hundreds of ‘innocent women and children were killed in the most brutal manner, while some were even raped, burned  and buried in mass graves along with‎ men. With total disregard to law and order, the Muhammadu Buhari government has acted in total contempt of court by refusing to obey the court order directing the unconditional release and compensation of our leader as well as provision of a residence for him within a specified period of time by the court.”

The women also blamed  Kaduna state government led by Governor Nasir el-Rufai for

“mischievously cropping out charges accusing our  leader of abetting the killings and mass murder of his children, followers and supporters who were all killed by the soldiers to make clear their face of impunity and crime against humanity to the world.

“Everyone today in Nigeria is a witness that we were attacked, killed,-arrested, tortured, incarcerated and even buried alive in mass graves and yet, the government is deceptively playing on the intelligence of the public by trying to turn the blame against us using public office to blackmail and paint us black by also concocting lies and unimaginable stories,” the IMN Sisters Forum spokesperson added.
