State chairman of the party, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere said the party in the state received the postponement with shock and great disappointment.

The APGA state chairman, represented by his deputy, Chief Uzoma Onyekwere, while recounting losses experienced as a result of the postponement of the election stated that the attention of the party was drawn to an alleged plan by the PDP to rig the postponed election in the state.

He said that the plan, if carried out, will not only deny Abia people the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights in choosing their leaders through the ballot  but may have triggered- off a chain of violent events that may endanger the lives of the public as they file out to cast their vote.”

The APGA  chairman further pointed out that, part of the plans was busted  Friday night  when a man who identified himself as one Gauis was arrested somewhere in Umuahia by the Police for being in possession  of INEC sensitive documents and already completed results sheets that gave PDP victory ahead of the postponed presidential and National Assembly election.

He said: “Upon interrogation by the police, the suspect claimed  that the documents which included prepared result sheets and Governor Ikpeazu’s letter headed papers belonged to his boss, Chinenye Nwogu, Special Assistant to Governor Ikpeazu on Youths and focal person on N-power in Abia state.

‘’Reacting on the confession made by the suspects which fingered him as the brain behind the plot, Chinenye Nwogu,  the state N-Power Focal Person and Special Assistant to Governor Ikpeazu gave a different account which accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) as  the brain behind  what he described as stage- managed plot orchestrated at the governorship campaign office of  Dr Uche Ogah.’’
