Elections: Yobe NUJ cautions Reporters on responsible reportage

Media and Civil Society Organisations have been charged to be fair in reporting issues of 2019 election, so that it wouldn’t escalates to violence.

The call was made at a one day workshop on budget, recovery and election coverage organised by Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ Yobe state council in partnership with Voice and Accountability. 

The workshop which was supported by Partnership To Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL-NE) was geared towards deepening media understanding on reportage, programming for effective delivery.

Chairman of the NUJ in the state, Yusuf Isah, charged participants to utilize the opportunity to refresh their knowledge.

There were paper presentations on “deepening understanding on humanitarian and budget tracking in relation to covering 2019 general election, role of CSOs in 2019 general elections, among others.

The event which took place at Civil Service Union arena in Damaturu, drew about 50 participants across the state.
