Emeteole proud with win over Pillars

Heartland technical adviser, Kelechi Emeteole has said his side completely outplayed the Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars.
The Naze Millionaires pipped the Pyramid City side 1-0 in Sunday’s Glo Premier League match day 30 encounter at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
Former Fame FC striker, Bobby Clement scored the match winner in the 10th minute to hand his side the maximum three points at stake.
Emeteole said his wards showed supremacy over Pillars and could have justifiably won the clash with a wide goal margin if not missed chances at goal by his frontmen.
“We created several chances at goal to have recorded as many as three, four goals but we couldn’t convert the chances.
“Holding on to a goal lead is usually risky more so when you have begging chances to get the assurance goals.
“A win is still better than a draw or loss but it would have been nice to cement the win with a wide goal margin as we completely outplayed Pillars in every department of the game.
“Pillars only managed to get to our vital area through free kicks and never seriously challenged or created any scary moment throughout the clash.
“Well, the victory is a way forward in our concerted effort to contest for the summit as well as take our rightful position on the league table.
“I’m happy at least we took four points out of six from Pillars in the ongoing league season,” said the former El-Kanemi Warriors head coach to supersport.com.
Emeteole said goalscorer, Bobby Clement stretched off the field with injury in the second half of the duel is in a stable condition.
“Clement is okay but I would love to see him recovering quickly to return to the pitch as we need him in the next matches,” said Emeteole.
Heartland’s win against leaders, Kano Pillars has taken their points haul to 44 from a possible 90 at the end of week 30 matches.
