Emir of Ilorin wants confab resolutions passed to NASS

The Emir of Ilorin and a representative of the traditional institutions at the National Conference, Alhaji Sulu Ibrahim Gambari, has called on President Goodluck Jonathn to ensure that the resolutions of the conference are passed to the National Assembly after the people’s views were sought in a referendum.
Gambari stated that if all that the president raised in his speech were carried out by the conference, it would lead to a good constitution for Nigeria.

The monarch commended the handling of the debate on voting describing it as a manifestation of maturity exhibited by the delegates adding that the 50 wise men had brought succour to the conference.
According to the emir, at the end of the conference many people at home and abroad would commend the country for having arrived at solutions to the problems of the country.

The traditional ruler cautioned that religion should not continue to raise temper among Nigerians whenever it is being discussed, saying that the trend should not continue.
He commended the gentle manner in which an Igbo Muslim had spoken to the conference saying that he was calm and made all his points.
He enjoined the delegates to deliberate calmly and reasonably as well as discuss freely and gently.
