Emir Sanusi turbans Dambazau, others

 

Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, yesterday in Kano turbaned the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdurrahman Dambazau (retd) with traditional title of Baraden Kano.
Also, a retired Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Dr. Aminu Ahmed Sadiq was turbaned as Zannah Kano and Alhaji Habibu Bello Dankade, as Fagacin Kano.

Speaking shortly after the turbanning ceremony, Sanusi said they were conferred with the titles taken into cognisance the spectacular role they had been playing in promoting the tradition and values of the Kano Emirate Council over the years.

He said, the three eminent personalities had proofed their worth in contributing their quota toward the socio-economic and political development of the country in their respective field of their human endeavours, at the time when such contributions were most needed.

He pointed out that the Kano Emirate Council would ever remain consistent in giving honour to whom it was due, stressing that the conferment of the titles would serve as a tonic and a source of inspiration to those, who might wish to tread their footsteps.

The monarch counselled then to offer meaningful advice to the Emirate Council and government on issues affecting the wellbeing of the entire people of the state in particular and the country general.

Eminent personalities, who graced the occasion included Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris.

Others were Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Yusuf Tukur Burutai, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Saddiq Abubakar and Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi as well as other Heads of various security agencies.

Also in attendance were Emirs from all walks of life, traditional rulers, religious and community leaders , members of the diplomatic corps, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, among others.
