Health body distances self from ‘misleading’ publications in Nigerian newspapers

A multipurpose international organisation, Emplug Limited, has distanced itself from publications in some Nigerian newspapers about the organisation being involved in an alleged recruitment scam involving the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Addressing newsmen Friday in Abuja, the CEO of Emplug, Engr. Azunna Chukwu, said the company was duly registered in two states in the United States of America and with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria, with every information about the company available to the public for verification at all times.

He said, “despite the misleading, defamatory, libelous and malicious publications in selected Nigerian newspapers”, the company will not be discouraged from offering its services to the public, especially as it is committed to creating sustainable solutions to millions of Nigerians and building a working nation.

He said: “It is disheartening and embarrassing to journalism in Nigeria to know that a registered newspaper in Nigeria with years of experience could not make a simple search with the CAC to confirm facts before publishing such falsehood. Emplug is an international company incorporated in two states in the United States of America, with an operational USA headquarters in Fontana, California and international activities that abound on the internet.

“Equally incorporated in Nigeria in 2015, a simple search would have shown the newspapers the true identity of the owners of the company, not Col Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (rtd) or Mr Yohanna-Silas Mshelia. The due have no connection whatsoever with Emplug Limited or Emplug Inc. This effort to bring the image of Emplug Limited to disrepute is the result of a failed blackmail and extortionist attempts by some envious and disgruntled persons within the NDLEA, whose unsuccessful attempts to hijack the recruitment process and extort money from us and bring in over 2,000 unknown candidates proved abortive.

“We urge the public to disregard the falsehood in all its entirety. As a registered organisation in Nigeria, Emplug is a responsible corporate citizen and our operations are guided by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and international best practices. We remain committed to creating sustainable solutions to millions of Nigerians and building a working nation despite this unfortunate attempt to tarnish our image.”
