Emulate Abejide, Kogi NUJ charges politicians

The Kogi state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has charged politicians in the state to emulate the kind gesture of Hon. Leke Abejide in fulfilling promises made to the electorate who gave them the mandate to serve at different levels of governance.

The chairman of the Council, Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh, gave the charge Friday when he received a 20KVA Mikano generator set promised and delivered by Abejide; the member representing Yagba federal constituency at the National Assembly.

Momohjimoh described the House of Representatives member as “an exceptional politician who promises and fulfills it.”

He said, “When Hon. Abejide came to visit us in NUJ sometime ago, he discovered that the equipment he donated to NUJ was not put to use, so he enquired about the challenge and I told him that we don’t have a generator that can power the equipment.

“He promised to give us a generator that would enable us to use the equipment effectively and today he sent through his chief of staff a 20KVA Mikano generator to the Kogi state Council of NUJ.

“What he has done is exceptional; it is not every politician that will promise and fulfill it. But in his own case all the promises he made even to the people of his constituency he has graciously fulfilled the promises.”

Comrade Momohjimoh assured the donor that the generator would be judiciously utilised to serve the purpose it was meant for.

“It is our duty to inform, educate and entertain people and as such we will put the generator to use and we highly appreciate this effort and we will continue to partner with him.”
