#ENDSARS: Coalition tasks FG on trustworthiness, ASSU

The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance has called on the federal government to demobilise the #ENDSARS protesters by reassuring them that government is trustworthy with its promises on their demands.

Briefing the media Sunday in Abuja, the chief convener, Comrade Olayemi Success, also charged government to quickly resolve issues with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to enable students return back to schools.

He noted the violence trend the protest is taking, adding that time for achieving other issues have been lost due to roadblocks which has deprived citizens of their rights.

“I’m sure you all know the loss of man hour that Nigerians have suffered recently due to deliberate road blocks by these protesters and the several attempts by the politicians to cash in, for the purpose of political scores, bearing in mind that these protesters have their right to protest just like us, the overwhelming majority have our right to enjoy peaceful atmosphere devoid of blocked roads.

He appealed to the protesters to give government time to implement their agreed demands and let peace reign in the nation, urging them to understand that there are processes to follow before demands can be realistic.
