Enugu community defies heavy rain to honour Ugwuanyi

The People of Enugu West senatorial zone in Enugu yesterday defied heavy downpour to honour Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who was on official visit to the area.
His visit which took him round the zone started from Mburubu community where he commissioned road project and ended at Awgu local government secretariat where he received accolades from the stakeholders.
Governor Ugwuanyi was excited when he saw the mammoth crowd as he commended stakeholders and members of the party for their loyalty and commitment to the cause of the party.
He expressed gratitude to the people for their support and promised that his administration would continue the good work if returned to power in 2019.
Ugwuanyi made the declaration during the official visit and inauguration of Gburu Gburu campaign movement of Awgu. He urged them to keep praying for him and the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu so that they could continue with their good work.
“What happened today is a demonstration of love.
Look at how the whole crowd danced under the heavy rain.
My promise to you is that we will continue the good work.
But I plead with you to pray for me and remember the three-time deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu in prayers,” Ugwuanyi said.
Speaking during the inauguration, deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu congratulated the PDP chairman for the recent expansion of the party.
Ekweremadu disclosed that PDP is the fastest expanding party in the country with a promise that the party will deliver in 2019.
He hailed Ugwuanyi for his leadership quality adding that he is not only the leader of PDP but the leader of everybody.
Ekweremadu promised to deliver Governor Ugwuanyi in 2019 adding that Enugu west senatorial zone will buy governorship form for him and make sure that nobody from the zone buys governorship form to contest for the party ticket with him.
“We promise you that nobody from Enugu west will buy governorship form for primary election.
We are behind you.
We will buy governorship form for you and deliver you because of your leadership quality,” Ekweremadu said.
Earlier in a welcome address, Awgu local government chairman, Hon.
Stanley Okeke thanked all the party stakeholders of the zone for honouring the invitation.
Okeke assured all the PDP contestants that victory is assured in 2019 and hailed Ugwuanyi for working together with Ekweremadu in rural development.
He prayed that their relationship would continue to improve the lives of those at the rural areas.
