Enugu PDP chairmanship aspirants stranded in office

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship and councillorship aspirants for the February 9 local government elections in the state who stormed the party state party secretariat to pick nomination forms have been left stranded.

The aspirants who thronged the secretariat as early as 9: am are yet to be attended to as at the time of filing this report.

Some of them who spoke to our reporter said no party official has addressed them to explain the situation lamenting that there are no signs that forms are to be issued.

However, a chairmanship aspirant for Nsukka Local government Hon Agbo Amos Amadi who arrived with his supporters said “we have been here since morning waiting for party officials to commence sale of forms but nothing yet.

“I have been waiting patiently with my supporters and I have no doubt that the party will do Justice to us because today is the deadline. Tomorrow is for our screening in line with the party timetable.”

Efforts by the reporter to reach the party State Chairman Hon Austin Nnamani failed as his mobile phone could not be reached.
