Enugu: SEDI staff mourn slain MD

Touched by the gruesome death of their former boss, staff of the Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI) Enugu have declared a two-day mourning for the slain Managing Director, Prof. Samuel Ndubisi.

Ndubisi was murdered in broad daylight last Wednesday. He was accosted in his official car at Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway by hoodlums suspected to be assassins who shot and killed him along with his police orderly.

Because the staff cherished the working relationship they enjoyed with their boss, they declared Thursday and Friday public holidays to mourn the departed.

Staff of the Institute who spoke to Blueprint on the unsavoury development said Ndubisi was a good man and the management deemed it fit to declare a two-day workfree days to mourn him.

“We were devastated by his death, so we declared a two work free days to mourn him. He was a nice man and we related with him well.

“He was on the second tenure of his appointment that would have elapsed next year,” a staff who spoke on anonymous said.
