Enyimba’s Udoh, Akas early birds in Eagles camp

Enyimba skipper Mfon Udoh and defender Chima Akas were the fi rst players to report to the CHAN Eagles training camp in Kano. Th e Enyimba stars hit the Eagles Tahir Guest Palace Hotel by 1.26 pm and immediately met with assistant coach Imama Amapakabo, who was in Kano yesterday to watch Kano Pillars beat Remo Stars 2-0 in continuation of the NPFL. Incidentally, experienced leftback Chima Akas was captain of the CHAN Eagles at the last edition of the tournament in Rwanda, where Nigeria failed to go past the fi rst round. More players are expected to storm the camp later today with fi rst training session slated for Tuesday morning. Th at each of the 30 players called up will have a room to himself at the prestigious Tahir Hotel. Th e Kano State Government is bankrolling the CHAN Eagles training camp right up to the return leg qualifi er against Benin on August 18.
