EPL: A thrilling season comes to an end

It’s the final weekend of what has been an exciting season, and we begin at the Sports Direct Arena where Newcastle take on Chelsea. The Blues’ top four hopes took a huge knock following a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield at Stamford Bridge. With three teams already guaranteed a Champions League spot for next season, Chelsea now need to win this and hope Liverpool slip up against Brighton. Newcastle have nothing to play for but they will look to end their season with a win.

Liverpool will have their own fate in their hands when they face Brighton at Anfield. The Reds have been slightly inconsistent with results and look destined to find outside the top three despite being there for quite a while. They need to win here to guarantee Champions League qualification. Mohammed Salah is set to win the golden boot, but with one more goal he will break the record for the most goals scored in a season. Whether that will happen remains to be seen.

Manchester United will have an eye on the FA Cup final when they take on Watford at Old Trafford. The final is just six days after this game and manager Mourinho will definitely have an eye on it. He’s already without Romelu Lukaku for this fixture and has stated he will like to avoid more players succumbing to injury.

Watford have a chance of finishing in the top ten if they register a shock win and other results go their way.

Manchester City will travel to St. Mary’s Stadium to take on Southampton. The Citizens will become the first team to reach 100 points in a single season with a win while the Saints have all but secured their safety. The only way they will go down now is if they lose by 10 clear goals, which, of course, is impossible.

Two teams who have been relegated will take on each other when Swansea take on Stoke at the Liberty Stadium.

Tottenham will face Leicester at White Hart Lane. In what is their last game at Wembley before returning to White Hart Lane, the Lilywhites will now take the game to the team that denied them the League title two seasons ago.

Arsene Wenger takes charge of his final match as Arsenal boss when Arsenal tackle Huddersfield at the Kirklees Stadium. It’s not a game all Gunner fans are looking forward to though as a 3-1 defeat to Leicester in their last outing meant they have now lost a staggering 13 league games this season.

The Terriers on the other hand are in cloud nine after securing their Premier League status for next season. They have claimed some scalps in front of their fans this season, so can they add Arsenal to that list?

Crystal Palace will entertain an already relegated West Brom at Selhurst Park, with the Baggies playing their last league fixture after getting relegated for the first time in a decade.

Burnley will aim to bring a highly successful season to a positive end against Bournemouth at Turf Moor.

West Ham and Everton contest the final game at the Olympic Stadium as David Moyes once again takes on his former side.
