Equity market gains N16bn

Trading activities at the nation’s equities market yesterday returned to bullish trend, as value of equities appreciated by N16 billion. Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities yesterday increased by 0.12 per cent to N12.850 trillion from N12.834 trillion traded the previous day.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index also grew by 32.11 basis points to 26397.94 points from 26365.83 reported on Tuesday.

Investors traded 290.935 million shares worth N2.779 billion in 2668 deals against 694.019 million shares cost N7.827 billion in 2780 deals.

A review of the transactions, showed that Dangote Cement industry Plc  led gainers table during the day, increasing by N2.30 kobo to close at N146.20 kobo, United Bank for Africa followed with a gain of N0.15 kobo to close at N5.85 kobo, FBNHoldings Plc added N0.10 kobo to close at N5.40 kobo, UAC Property gained N0.09 kobo to close at N1.09 kobo while Omo Mortgage Bank Plc grew by N0.05 kobo to close at N0.55 kobo.

On the contrary, Lafarge Wapco recorded the highest loss during the day, declining by N0.45 kobo to close at N14.70 kobo, Zenith Bank Plc trailed with a loss of N0.25 kobo to close at N17.00, Access Bank Plc down by N0.25 kobo to close at N7.10 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank fell by N0.20 kobo to close at N26.10 kobo, Oando Plc sheds N0.10 kobo to close at N3.40 kobo
