Equity market gains N32bn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed northward, appreciating by N32 billion.

Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities increased 0.25 kobo to close at N12.807 trillion from N12.775 trillion reported the previous day.

The NSE All Share Index also increased by 66.38 basis points to 26310.77 points from 26244.39 points traded on Tuesday. Investors traded 156.849 million shares worth N1.809 billion in 3088 deals  against 267.898 million shares valued at N2.765 billion in 2967 deals.

A review of investment during the day showed that Dangote Cement led gainers table during the day, gaining N3.00 to close at N149.00, UAC of Nigeria followed with a gain of N0.45 kobo to close at N6.45 kobo, Access Bank Plc added N0.15 kobo to close at N7.50 kobo, UPL gained N0.11 kobo to close at N1.21 kobo while MTN Nigeria Communications Plc grew by N0.05 kobo to close at N127.00.

On the contrary, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc topped losers chart, declining by N1.50 kobo to close at N14.00, Lafarge Wapco trailed with a loss of N0.95 kobo to close at N13.40 kobo, Zenith Bank Plc also fell by N0.05 kobo to close at N16.95 kobo, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc down by N0.04 kobo to close at N1.01 kobo Afro Media depreciated by N0.04 kobo to N0.37 kobo.
