Equity market loses N33bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange NSE) Thursday sustained its losing streak, as the value of equities declined by N33 billion.

Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities depreciated further by 0.25 per cent to N13.257 trillion from N13.290 trillion reported on Wednesday.

The NSE All Share Index also went down by 67.55 basis points to 27252.09 points from 27319.64 traded on Wednesday.

Investors traded 133.343 million shares valued at N2.399 billion in 2561 deals against 250.450 million shares worth N3.190 billion exchanged hands in 3219 deals.

An analysis of the investment showed that Okomu Oil Palm  led gainers table for the day appreciating by N2.55 kobo to close at N44.15 kobo, Cadbury Nigeria Plc followed with a gain of N0.60 kobo to close at N9.90 kobo, UAC of Nigeria gained N0.50 kobo to close at N5.50 kobo , Guaranty Trust Bank Plc increased by N0.36 kobo to close at N28.50 kobo, Forte Oil Plc grew by N0.20 kobo to close at N15.06 kobo.

Convsersly, Lafarge Wapco recorded the highest loss during the day shedding N0.45 kobo to close at N14.50 kobo, MTN Nigeria Plc sheds N0.45 kobo to close at N138.05 kobo, Dangote Sugar Refinery Nigeria Plc dipped by N0.30 kobo to close at N8.50 kobo, PZ Cusson down by N0.30 kobo to close at N5.60 kobo while Custodian and investment depreciated by N0.20 kobo to close at N5.80 kobo.
