Equity market trades loses N90bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday close south wards, shedding N90 billion.

Specifically, market capitalisation of listed equities declined by 0.67 per cent to N13.342 trillion from N13.430 trillion reported the previous day.

The NSE All Share Index also depreciated by 181.45 basis points to 27425.57 points from 27607.02 traded on Wednesday.

Investors traded 116.069 million shares worth N1.651 billion in 3129 deals against 130.372 million shares worth N3.006 billion in 2866 deals.

An analysis of the daily trading showed that Nestle Nigeria Plc led gainers table growing by N5.00 to close at N1245.00, Forte Oil followed with a gain of N1.05 kobo to close at N16.45 kobo, Total Nigeria Plc gained N0.60 kobo to close N97.10 kobo. Africa Prudential Registrar added N0.30 kobo to close at N3.80 kobo, FBN Holdings grew by N0.15 kobo to close at N4.75 kobo

Dangote Cement Industry on the other hand, topped losers chart, dropping N3.00 to close at N162.50 kobo, MTN Nigeria followed with a loss of N2.10 kobo to close at N138.85 kobo, Unilever Nigeria Plc fell by  N1.00 to close at N28.00, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc declined by N0.80 kobo to close at N13.50 kobo and UAC of Nigeria dropped by N0.45 kobo to close at N4.55 kobo

The result further showed that Zenith Bank Plc was the most active stock during the day, trading 19.091 million shares worth N353.453 million, Lafarge Wapco followed with account of 17.667 million shares valued at N250.707 million, Access Bank sold a total of 15.011 million shares cost N96.898, Neimeth Pharmaceutical traded 6.984 million shares cost N3.264 million while GTBank traded 5.765 million shares worth N155.830 million.
