Etsu Nupe urges unity among subjects

The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has urged his people at home and in the Diaspora to be united wherever they reside. 
The Etsu, who doubles as Chairman of Niger State Counci of Traditional Rulers, told the people to co-exist peacefully with their neighbours. 
He said such act would attract the desired progress within the Nupe kingdom.
Etsu Nupe spoke in Wodata palace, Bida when the new Wozirin Yaki Nupe, AVM Mohammed Haruna, Rtd, paid him a “Thank You” visit and official turbaning ceremony of the new Dangata Nupe, Alhaji Musa Ladan
Ladan is the Director of Administration, Federal Medical Centre, Bida. 


The royal Flfather urged Nupe, both at home and in the Diaspora, to do “everything possible to reposition the Nupe kingdom on the path of progress.
Abubakar also appealed to wealthy sons of the emirate, especially those in the Diaspora, to return home and establish industries.

He said such would facilitate the socio-economic development of “Kin Nupe”.
The traditional ruler also admonished them to make meaningful investments in Nupe kingdom, to boost the development of the area, Niger state and Nigeria in general.
He noted that making investments and establishing industries would greatly help in reducing the rising unemployment rates and biting poverty in the country.


Alhaji Abubakar restated that traditional institution would always honour those who contribute to the development of the kingdom, the state, country and humanity.   “Those that are given traditional titles are people of proven integrity who show concern to the development and socio-economic well being of the emirate.”
He said the honour was to encourage others to live exemplary lives, in any position, for the general good of the country.
The traditional ruler commended his subjects  for living in harmony with one another and urged them to sustain the peaceful co-existence among the people.
He also commended people in the kingdom for their support to his peace agenda, adding that peace was a basic ingredient for development .

The monarch said the peace being enjoyed in  the area was due to people’s resolve to unite and urged them to sustain the good understanding.
He urged Nupes to shun acts capable of tarnishing the image of the area.
Responding, AVM Haruna and Musa Ladan, Director, Administration, Federal Medical Centre, Bida, both promised not to fail the Etsu Nupe, Bida Emirate and Niger state in the discharge of their responsibilities.
They  thanked the Etsu Nupe for bestowing the honour on them.
They promised to do everything humanly possible to foster the development of Nupe kingdom, Niger state and Nigeria as a whole.
