Ex-Adamawa gov Barka returns to PDP

The former acting governor of Adamawa state Amb. James Barka has announced his exit from the All progressive congress (APC) to the ruling peoples Democratic party (PDP).


Announcing his defection inside Government House Yola, the state capital in an occation attended by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the former acting governir said he has remained a PDP man even when he was in APC.
He further said his decision to defect to the ruling party in the state was informed by the good work of the incumbent governor who is bringing a lot of develooment to the state within a shirt time, stressing that his defection was to support the government to bring more dividends of democracy to the people.


According to him, PDP made him what he is as he was elected under the platform of the party to the state House of Assembly where he became speaker, acting overnor and ambassador, adding that even when he defected to APC he was there alone leaving his supporters behind in PDP, hence the need to returned back to his home.
Responding, goveror Fintiri thanked the former state chief executive for, “taking bold decision in the collective interest of the state.”


Fintiri also used the opportunity provided at the occation to reiterate his call on all well meaning citizens of Adamawa state and other opposition elements to put politics aside and join him in the task of moving the forward.
He however, assured that his administration will not only fulfill his promises to the people of the state but will carry everyone along and ensure equity and fairness in the distributions of development projects for all.
