Former chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria(ALGON) in Ekiti state and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Toba Adaramola, has vowed to drag former Governor Ayo Fayose to court over what he described as “malicious publication” allegedly targeted at discrediting his personality.
Adaramola, who issued a 14-day ultimatum to Fayose to apologise to him over the said publication or face legal action, advised the ex-governor to stop displaying desperation in his attempt to clinch the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) ticket for this year’s governorship election.
Daramola stated this on Wednesday while speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Kayode Fayemi said this in a reply to a page advertorial run in Wednesday’s edition of a national newspaper, being a letter he purportedly wrote to the immediate past PDP chairman, Bamanga Tukur, on the need to adopt primary rather than consensus to select the candidate for the election.
But in a swift reaction, Fayose said rather than attacking his personality, Adaramola should tell the public whether he wasn’t the author of the letter.
Fayose, in a statement by his Director of Media and Publicity, Idowu Adelusi, said “the reaction of Toba Adaramola over the letter he wrote, signed by him and personally delivered to AFCO as member of AFCO’s Publicity Committee then, is a clear indication that he does not have integrity.”
