Ex CP raises alarm over rising insecurity

President General Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide, CP Iorbee Ihagh (retd) has described as alarming the level of insecurity in Nigeria.

Ihagh urged the federal government to take urgent actions to bring an end to the rising insecurity saying Nigerians were no longer sure of their future and where the country is heading.

Ihagh, who spoke with Blueprint Weekend, Friday in Makurdi, said Bandits, Kidnappers, Boko haram, Fulani herdsmen are killing people in Nigeria but the government is not doing her best to stop it.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to change the Security Chiefs saying they were not doing anything to end the mindless killing of Nigerians.

He also urged the President to stop the killing of the indigenous Tiv people in Taraba state and to make sure that the IDPs scattered in Benue State go back to their ancestral homes.

“For instance, Moon Council Ward in Kwande Local Government Area, the herdsmen have ransacked them for over six years, burnt all the churches, government schools, health centres etc, and people cannot access their homes because of the fear of being killed by the Fulani herdsmen parading openly with sophisticated guns,” he noted.

He said soldiers should not be involved in settling internal boundary disputes. He explained that instead of making peace, the soldiers take sides with the criminals to stop indigenes from returning to their ancestral homes.

“My expectation this New Year is that federal government will end the increasing level of insecurity in the country which has resulted to loss of many lives and destruction of property.

“It is my prayer and resolution that the Tiv people will come together and be united to stand for their rights,” he added.
