Ex-Deputy Speaker, others join APC, burn PDP membership cards

Former deputy speaker of the Kwara state House of Assembly, Hon Mohammed Suka-Baba, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.

Suka-Baba, who defected with some members of PDP in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara state, openly burnt their former membership cards.

Giving reasons for his defection, Suka-baba told journalists that it was borne out of promptings by his supporters in the area.

“As a Fulani man, I am defecting to the APC because my people want the APC. I want to say I am back as I was a founding member of the APC in the state. The APC is a progressive party and anybody that wants the progress of Kwara state and Nigeria, in general, must join APC.

“I am not joining the APC to create any faction in the party. I will still talk to some of them in the PDP to join the party of the progressives, which is the APC”.
