Ex-house of reps member, 20,060 APC, NNPP members defect to PDP in Bauchi

A former member of the House of Representatives from Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency in Bauchi state, Garba Bundot alongside 20,060 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) from Dass and Tafawa Balewa local government areas weekend decamped to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

In their separate remarks while announcing their defection at a PDP campaign rally, Garba Bundot from Dass and Malam Adbullahi Bafala from Tafawa Balewa, said they made the decision to move to the PDP because of the massive infrastructural development recorded under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed in less than three years.

“We left APC to join PDP with 5060 followers. What impressed us was the good work of the governor. He is working for the people of Bauchi State and not for his pocket. With our coming to PDP, we will work tirelessly towards ensuring the victory of the governor and all the PDP candidates.”

Receiving the decampees, Governor Bala said the defectors have made the right choice considering the fact that the APC is becoming more unpopular party in Nigeria and assured them that they to enable them mobilize votes and support to the PDP from top to bottom in the forthcoming general elections as it would offer them better leadership than the APC.

Addressing supporters earlier, the governor promised to construct more roads in Tafawa Balewa and Dass local government areas to boost socio-economic activities and improve the standard of living if re-elected.

He in particular hoped that the people of Tafawa Balewa would not allow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to record another inconclusive election in Tafawa Balewa like was experienced in 2019.
