Former international Idah Peterside has promised to run a transparent administration if he eventually becomes the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Idah gave the pledge in Abuja over the weekend when he met with Blueprint sport at FIFA Goal Project, Package B of the Moshood Abiola, National Stadium, Abuja.
“All the money that comes to the coffers of the NFF will be made public under my watch. All the in-flow and out-flow will be published for scrutiny. We’re coming with trust, accountability and openness” he said.
The former Super Eagles Media officer insisted “I’m not been induced to come out and run for the office of NFF president. I came out of burning desire to fix the NFF. I’m highly qualify for the position. I played the game. I love Nigeria. I’m passionate about my country. I made up my mind because I believed I can bring change to the system and this changes will be felt under a short time.
The Pastor of South Africa-based Ambassadors Church and renowned football pundit further added that nothing stops Nigeria from ranking among the best football playing nation of the world if the right people are elected into offices.
“Yes, the time has come, this is our game. We’ve kept quiet for this long and just watching all that has been happening. The time has for us to change Nigerian football; time has come for us to do something different.
He insisted that Francis Uzoho remains the best goalkeeper in the Super Eagles.
“Uzoho is fantastic when it comes to crosses and that there’s a brighter future for the team under Jose Peseiro,” he said.
No date has been fixed for the NFF election but there’s every possibility that the election to elect who will succeed incumbent Amaju Melvin Pinnick will hold in September.
