Ex-minister, Nakande hails Kyari, Mustapha’s reappointment

President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended for reappointing Malam Abba Kyari as Chief of Staff (CoS) and Boss Mustapha as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Former Minister of State Information and Communications, Hon. Ibrahim Dasuki Salihu Nakande, also described the appointment as wise decision that would further stabilise the polity.

He made the commendation, while fielding questions from journalists in Jos Saturday.

He said the duo have vast knowledge and experience needed for the administration to deliver on its outstanding promises to Nigerians.

He said: “Abba Kyari and Mustapha have been strong pillars of support for the current administration, and should also be on board to consolidate on the progress made during the first term.”

“…Nobody understands the policies of the current administration better to coordinate activities in the presidency like Abba Kyari, and that since Boss Mustapha came on board in 2017, the quality of governance had deepened.

“Bringing in new persons at this stage to serve in those two key positions would have meant going back to the drawing board to start afresh,” he said.

Nakande said it would have been counter-intuitive for Mr. President to have dropped them, having known the history of every policy direction of the government.

“The two men possess the winning formula so it is only right that they should be allowed to continue.

“People forget how the chief of staff was able to keep a positive attitude when the President was on medical vacation abroad some years back,” he said.
