Former Minister of National Planning, Prof Abubakar Olanrewaju Suleiman, has stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will attain major height in political accomplishment with a vibrant image maker as its National Publicity Secretary.

Sulaiman said this in mission statement yesterday in which he canvassed for the support of party faithful for the position of in the December national convention.

The aspirant expressed the belief in the  “PDP as the only viable vehicle for the redemption and transformation of our country”, saying that “my vision to aspire for the post of the National Publicity Secretary of our great party is borne out of the conviction that our failure in the last election was informed by the inability to project and promote our party ideals and accomplishments”.

“The arrays of internal squabbles on account of the impunity experienced in the various chapters of our party remain a fundamental drawback for the party’s outing in the general elections.

“Politics and electoral process entail opinion moulding and perception building. Without a strong and vibrant image maker, we would find it difficult to achieve this major height in our political accomplishment.

“As a matter of exigency, our party requires a man of strong character, courage, articulate and proactive traits to preside over this sensitive position.

“Consequently, our party’s dream to attain this level can only be realised via collectivity, inclusivity and structured social networking.

“We must change our tactics, as you can’t do things the same way and expect to have different results. A new strategy must be reinvented and our philosophy to transformation and change must be reviewed.

“My wealth of experience as a teacher of politics for over two decades; the institutional memories of my Cabinet year and my close partnership with Nigeria media remain an asset in the task ahead.

“I, fervently, solicit your support in actualising this dream. Together we can”, Sulaiman said.
