Ex-PDTF boss, Oluleye joins Ekiti governorship race, promises Agric revolution

Former Executive Secretary, Petroleum Technology Development Funds (PTDF) Oluwole Oluleye has joined the race for the governorship of Ekiti state, promising use the state’s agricultural potential to improve the well-being of its people.
He made the promise Friday in Abuja, while speaking with newsmen after picking his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat to contest the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election.
Oluwole, who is also a former Executive Secretary, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), said: “Ekiti is predominantly an agrarian state, we will utilise what is available in the state to get our economy growing. This is basically why I am on the race, the level of poverty I see in the state in the midst of plenty is totally unacceptable.
“And I firmly believe that I can change the situation within the shortest possible time; I will alleviate poverty through agriculture,” he said.
The aspirant said if elected as Ekiti next governor, he would ensure good governance and standard in all aspects.
He maintianed his administration would ensure good standard was set for the younger generation coming to emulate and to build on.
He stressed that Ekiti at the moment, needed the best hand to govern it, adding that he has the experience and exposure to take it to the desired level of development.
“Ekiti need the best hands now to pilot it to where it should be, we should not leave in the midst of poverty at all, with the experience I have, both local and international, I will take the state to were it is suppose to be,” he said.
Already, about 20 aspirants had so far picked the forms to contest the election, among which where: the state´s immediate past governor, Dr Fayemi, Sen. Babafemi Ojodu and Victor Kolade.
Also in the race are: Opeyemi Bamidele and Dr Yaya Kolade. Screening of aspirants would take place from April 23 to April 25, while the screening appeal would be from April 26 to April 27.
