Ex-Super Eagle gets Montpellier job

Former Super Eagles striker, John Utaka, has been handed a coaching job by his former club French Ligue side Montpellier, the club announced via their Facebook page.

Utaka was instrumental to their first French league title scoring a brace in the final day of 2011/2012 season to power them top a 2-1 victory over Auxerre beating PSG to the second position.

The club name him as the club U-19 coach with Utaka FC pet team posting a message of congratulation to the ex-international.

“It was with great plesure we learnt of the appointment of John Utaka as the U-19 coach of Montpellier team of France. We congratulate you most warmly on behalf of John Utaka FC,” the statement reads.

He will resume work after the Pandemic with the instruction that he coaches the youngtsers to the first team where he would also work as one of the four assistant coaches.
