Expanding higher education in Gombe

The major expansion of higher learning institutions by the Gombe state Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, is to bring about thousands of jobs to the state, and hundreds of millions of naira through research, development and business activity. With Dankwambo’s vision of making Gombe home to the best-educated, most-skilled and productive citizens, he is investing much in higher education and the sub-education sector to attain the educational need of the people and attract non-indigenes to come to Gombe for their studies.
This will prepare the people for the 21st century education and jobs. Because, higher education is vital to the Gombe state economic development strategy, the governor builds on a strong partnership of public and private entities in the education to work together to educate and train the next generation of workers in Gombe state that will be globally competitive through the established and proposed higher institutions in the state. Data shows that from 2011 to date job creations and student enrollment in the higher institutions in Gombe state grew faster than before. Governor Dankwambo for his vision, courage and leadership, recently approved the released of N495m for the payment of arrears of allowances and accreditation exercise of Gombe State University.
