Expensive of Wazobia FM wins Nigerian Youth Achievers award

Multiple award-winning senior broadcaster at Wazobia FM, Lagos, Mr Expensive James, has won the Global Youth Ambassador of the year award organised by the Nigerian Youth Achievers Award, in recognition of his impact on humanity.

Mr Expensive, who has distinguished himself in his career and was recently inducted as Member of Society of Broadcasters, was awarded Global Youth Ambassador of the year.

Expensive, who is the Convener of Help One Foundation and member of Poverty Fighters Squad in Africa and Diaspora, is known for supporting and teaching the poor how to overcome poverty, especially in Africa.

Expensive is also the presenter of a new program, I Must Make Am, a programme he presents with Dr Edward Olutoke, to help the poor, which runs every Monday by 8pm on 95.1 Wazobia FM Lagos, with the mega seminar slated to hold every last Sunday of the month.

Speaking with reporters on Friday, Expensive said the award will motivate him to continue adding to humanity, advising other entertainers to work harder and smarter for success.

He said: “I feel good and happy, owing to the fact that I just came back to Lagos. However, within 3 months, this is my second award. The award will serve as motivation to me. Of course, whenever you get accolades, recognition and appreciation, it encourages you to do more. It opens your eyes to the fact that people are really following and watching you, even if you are not noticing them.

“It makes you have a sense of belonging that you are not working in vain. All I have to tell Nigerians, especially my fans and listeners at Wazobia FM, is that they should expect more than what they know of me. They should also expect more recognitions. This is just the beginning. As you already know, I am versatile and multitalented when it comes to entertainment and broadcasting.

“I needed to be discovered by a team of experts that can manage me. Time management is my only problem. Having said that, let me roll down on some of the things you should expect. I am shooting a musical video for myself. I am producing series and comedy skits. I am starting a talk show soon. Of course, you know I have a football academy. I am working with FIFA license agents, who take young footballers out of the country to seek for good clubs. My NGO, Help One Foundation, is still positively active.

“As a member of Poverty Fighters Squad, we are introducing Nigerians and Africans to business opportunities and investments. I do multiple things at a time and I am glad I am taking advantage of my time now. I will encourage other entertainers that are to be recognized for their hardwork to keep doing what they are doing positively. They should desist from gossiping and blackmailing their colleagues. Instead, they should use that time to build themselves and grow.

“I am saddened by the present Naira notes scarcity, fuel scarcity and economic problems. As an activist, I will continue to speak the truth, sensitise and educate ordinary Nigerians. I represent the grassroots. I will never forget my root. Enough is enough. Nigerians should not allow themselves to be fooled for the 20th time. If the system permits them, they should get their PVCs. Take the bull by the horn and take back their future and that of their unborn children.”
